Leslie Parsons  – biography

Leslie Parsons is a career Hollywood Production Designer who has received four Emmy Award nominations for ‘Best Art Direction’ and was also nominated for the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction’ award.

Leslie has a degree in Art from Allan Hancock College and a degree in Theatre Arts from California State University at Long Beach.

Upon retirement from a second career in local government administration, Leslie has enjoyed learning more about painting with various water media, including transparent watercolor and brush & ink.

Leslie has taken watercolor workshops from Frank Eber, Keiko Tanabe, Jeannie Vodden, Shirley Horacek, Betty and Howard Carr, and Michael Reardon. She studied life drawing under Nathaniel D. Fast, and, many years later, under his daughter Marti Fast.

Leslie is a member of The Monday Morning Painters, The Morro Bay Art Association, The Painters Group (San Luis Obispo Museum of Art) and the Central Coast Watercolor Society. She is an Associate member of the National Watercolor Society. In 2016 she won the “People’s Choice” award at Morro Bay Art Association’s juried show, “From the Arboretum.” In 2018 she received the Chris Van Winkle Memorial Award at the CCWS juried show, “Aquarius 2018.”
